That’s why we developed ‘Wall Savvy’, a proprietary plugin designed to automate the transformation of CAD floor plans into detailed BIM wall models within Revit. By leveraging Dynamo and custom scripts, Wall Savvy drastically reduces manual modeling time, ensuring speed, accuracy, and consistency in LOD 400 and LOD 500 deliverables.

Behind the Scenes of Wall Savvy

Wall Savvy was born out of the challenges faced by our BIM team when converting large-scale 2D CAD layouts into Revit models. Manual wall creation across hundreds of rooms was time-consuming and error prone. We identified a gap in the market for a lightweight tool that could read centerlines from CAD layers and instantly place the right wall types with predefined parameters.

Our team built the solution using Dynamo scripts and custom logic embedded into Revit’s environment. The result: a tool that maps entire floorplans in seconds  with accuracy and zero repetition.
